  • Duty and clearance are excluded, so real profit will be lower. The US $800 de minimis exemption no longer applies.

  • "FBA fulfillment — standard size (placeholder bands)" is a sample table. Replace it with your forwarder’s actual quote.
  • "FBA fulfillment fee" is a zero placeholder rate. Confirm it in the platform seller centre.

Direct parcel from China earns $2.50 more per unit than Overseas 3PL warehouse, mostly from: Inbound freight $2.50.

  • Direct parcel from China: One unit per customs entry, so clearance charges are not shared. No storage, but the international parcel rate is the highest per unit.
  • Overseas 3PL warehouse: Bulk first leg spreads clearance over the whole shipment; the 3PL charges storage and pick/pack, and the last mile is a domestic rate.
  • Platform warehouse (FBA / FBT): Pick, pack and delivery are bundled into the platform fulfillment fee. Best delivery speed, and often a ranking benefit.
  • Own warehouse: Same flow as a 3PL but at your own cost base — usually the cheapest per unit once volume covers the fixed cost.

All platform fee rates, duty rates and freight rates in this tool are configurable placeholders. They are not verified official rates and must be confirmed against the platform seller centre, the HTS/CBP schedules and your own freight forwarder before you rely on them.

Amazon’s own calculator stops at fees. This one starts where an importer actually starts: what the goods cost in CNY, what the first leg costs by chargeable weight, and what US customs takes before the unit ever reaches a fulfilment centre. Referral fees are charged per category with the per-item minimum applied, FBA fulfillment uses weight bands, and the fulfilment comparison shows FBA against an overseas 3PL, your own warehouse and direct parcel — including the clearance charge that a one-unit parcel entry cannot spread over anything.
